Last Updated: 10 April 2025  |  Aegiscraft, 88 Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of this website and, together with any engagement letter issued to you, the basis on which Aegiscraft provides legal services. Please take time to read them carefully. If anything is unclear, you are welcome to contact us before proceeding.

2. Use of This Website

This website is provided for informational purposes and to allow prospective and existing clients to make contact with us. By accessing and using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.

You may not use this website in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive to others. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its underlying systems. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the website at any time without notice.

3. No Legal Advice on Website

The content published on this website is intended for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice, and no solicitor-client relationship is created by your use of this website or by submitting an enquiry through it.

Legal advice specific to your circumstances is provided only through a formal engagement, which commences upon the issue and acceptance of an engagement letter. If you are uncertain whether the information on this website applies to your situation, we encourage you to contact us directly.

4. Engagement of Services

Our services are provided under the terms of a written engagement letter, which is issued at the outset of each matter. The engagement letter sets out the scope of work, the applicable fee, and any specific conditions relevant to the matter. These Terms and Conditions are incorporated into that engagement letter by reference unless expressly modified in writing.

We reserve the right to decline any engagement at our discretion. An initial enquiry, whether submitted through this website or made by telephone, does not constitute acceptance of an engagement.

5. Fees and Payment

Our fees are set out in the relevant engagement letter. Indicative fee ranges published on this website are provided for general reference only and are subject to the specific circumstances of each matter.

Payment terms are as stated in the engagement letter. Where payment is not received in accordance with those terms, we may suspend work on the matter and, in appropriate circumstances, terminate the engagement. Receipts and invoices are issued in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).

Our fee estimates do not cover disbursements such as filing fees, third-party reports, or other external costs, which are billed separately and with prior notice to the client.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are expected to provide accurate, complete, and timely information and documentation relevant to their matter. Delay or omission in providing requested materials may affect the progress of the matter and may alter any indicative timelines previously discussed.

Clients are responsible for informing us promptly of any change in circumstances that may be material to the engagement, including changes in contact details, developments in the underlying matter, or the involvement of another adviser.

7. Confidentiality

Aegiscraft treats all information shared in the course of an engagement as confidential. We do not disclose client information to third parties except as required to carry out the work, to comply with a legal obligation, or with the client's express consent. Our obligations of confidentiality continue after the conclusion of an engagement.

Clients should be aware that communications sent by ordinary email may not be fully secure. Where sensitivity is a concern, we are willing to discuss alternative communication arrangements at the client's request.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, layout, and design elements, is the property of Aegiscraft or its licensors and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages from this website for your personal, non-commercial use only. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or adapted for any other purpose without our prior written consent.

Written work products prepared for a client in the course of an engagement are provided for that client's use in connection with their matter. They may not be shared with third parties or reproduced for other purposes without our consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to clients in connection with any engagement is limited to the scope and value of the work undertaken as set out in the engagement letter. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of opportunity, loss of income, or reputational harm, unless caused by our wilful default or gross negligence.

We do not accept liability for the accuracy or currency of third-party content linked from this website. Links to external websites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement.

10. Termination of Engagement

Either party may bring an engagement to a close by written notice. Where we terminate an engagement, we will give the client reasonable notice and, where possible, sufficient time to arrange alternative representation. We reserve the right to terminate an engagement where continued representation would place us in breach of professional or legal obligations.

Upon termination, fees are payable for all work carried out up to the date of termination. Any documents provided to us by the client will be returned in an orderly manner.

11. Complaints and Disputes

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our services, we encourage you to raise the matter with us directly in the first instance. Written complaints may be addressed to our principal at the address set out in Section 14 below. We will acknowledge receipt within five working days and aim to provide a considered response within twenty-one working days.

Where a complaint cannot be resolved internally, you may refer the matter to the relevant professional regulatory body in accordance with the applicable rules governing legal practitioners in Malaysia.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of this website following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Changes do not affect the terms of any engagement letter already in force unless agreed in writing.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from your use of this website shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
