Why Aegiscraft

What distinguishes our approach

Thorough Document Review

Every engagement begins with a careful reading of original scheme documents, contribution records, and correspondence before any view is offered.

Client-Led Decisions

Advice is offered in plain terms. The client remains fully in control of every decision throughout the engagement, without pressure to proceed further.

Malaysian Law Expertise

Our work draws on a focused understanding of Malaysian pension legislation, EPF regulations, and the relevant administrative frameworks.

Unhurried Pace

We allow time for the client to read, reflect, and consult family before any step is taken. Complexity is not resolved by rushing.

Written Summaries

Following each review, a written summary is prepared so the client has a clear record of observations and the options available to them.

Transparent Fee Structure

Fees are stated clearly before work begins. There are no unexpected charges and the scope of each service is agreed in writing.

Initial Enquiry

Have a question about your pension entitlement?

Initial enquiries can be made by telephone or by appointment, without commitment. We are happy to explain what a review would involve before any decision is made.

Common Questions

Questions we are often asked

Who typically seeks a pension entitlement review? +

Most clients are either approaching retirement and want to understand whether their pension has been correctly calculated, or have already received a payment and noticed a discrepancy with what they expected. Family members assisting an elderly relative are also common enquirers.

What documents should I gather before an initial consultation? +

If you have them readily available, the most useful documents are your EPF or scheme statements, any letters from the pension administrator, employment records showing your service history, and a copy of any nomination forms you have submitted. We can advise on what to request if some documents are not to hand.

How long does a pension entitlement review take? +

A typical review takes two to three weeks from receipt of the relevant documents. More complex cases — those involving extended employment histories or multiple scheme memberships — may take longer. We provide a realistic timeframe at the outset.

What happens if the review finds an inconsistency? +

A written summary is prepared setting out the observations and the options available. The client then decides whether to raise the matter with the scheme administrator themselves, to engage us for formal correspondence, or to take no further step at that time. The decision rests entirely with the client.

Can you assist with both EPF and private occupational pension schemes? +

Yes. We work with clients in relation to EPF matters, private sector occupational schemes, and civil service pension arrangements. The applicable rules differ between schemes, and our review examines the specific scheme documentation rather than applying a general template.

Is an initial enquiry by telephone appropriate? +

Telephone enquiries are welcome. We find it useful to have a brief conversation first to understand the nature of the matter before suggesting which service would be appropriate. There is no charge for this initial discussion and no obligation to proceed.
